Danny's going to fall victim to gentania andrewsiis, irises, and maybe even ivys if he doesn't see it. He'll also be having problems with bees and ants. What this means is:
He'll need SAVING when he's paralyzed/asleep, whether just because you can't leave some poor kid like that out in a field or because there's an army of ants headed his way.

Using telepathy/mind reading abilities on this character: He's actually pretty vulnerable to mind control. I'm generally down with telepathy too, since secrets are a huge deal with him, and it gets interesting reactions.

Danny is a ghost hunter in his canon, and he zeros in on ghosts using his ghost sense. He keeps track of what ghosts are in the box out of sheer habit, and would likely have a general idea of where each ghostly character is, even if he hadn't interacted with them.
It's not something he can turn off, but if you'd rather opt out of it, we could plausibly claim that the kind of ghosts he can sense is too different to really sense your character!
